Division 1. GENERALLY |
§ 22-85. Same—Spouse or children.
If death results from any injury or sickness sustained by any eligible police officer while in, and in consequence of, the performance of duty as such police officer, or from any cause after fifteen (15) years of service, and the board of trustees shall find this to be true, after requiring certificates and other evidence of disability as provided in this article, it shall allow a pension, not exceeding the amount provided for pensions in this article, to be paid to such police officer's surviving spouse, child or children, but to cease as to the surviving spouse upon remarriage, or as to the child or children upon becoming eighteen (18) years of age.
