§ 22-139. Deposits from general fund.

  • The city clerk-treasurer is authorized and directed to pay into the firemen's relief and pension fund from the general fund of the city as follows:

    (1)

    Commencing on January 1, 1975, an amount equal to two (2) percent of the total salary or wages paid the members of the fire department.

    (2)

    Commencing on January 1, 1976, an amount equal to three (3) percent of the total salary or wages paid the members of the fire department.

    (3)

    Commencing on January 1, 1977, and thereafter, an amount equal to four (4) percent of the total salary or wages paid the members of the fire department.

    Said amounts shall be deposited monthly in the firemen's relief and pension fund of the city.
