Division 1. GENERALLY |
§ 22-65. Contributions by police officers.
The membership of the police department, as defined in this article, by voluntary agreement among themselves where three-fourths or more of the members of the department join in the agreement, may agree to contribute a percentage of their wages or salaries as they deem necessary to meet the requirements of the police pension and retirement system. No member of the police department as defined in this article or other beneficiary shall receive any of the pecuniary benefits provided by this article unless the officer shall have contributed to said fund not less than one percent of the officer's compensation while employed as a member of the department.
