Division 1. GENERALLY |
§ 22-79. Same—Eligibility.
In order for any police officer to be eligible for any disability allowance, or the officer's surviving spouse, child or children to be eligible for pension, the officer must have complied with any agreement as to contributions by such officer and other police officers to any funds of the pension and retirement system where said agreement has been made as provided by this article; and the board of trustees must find:
(1)
That the officer became physically or mentally disabled or died while in, and in consequence of, the performance of duty as such police officer; or
(2)
That such police officer has served fifteen (15) years and has become disabled or has died from any cause.
