§ 22-88. Disability retirement—Examination.

  • Any police officer retired for disability as provided in sections 22-78—22-87 of this article may be summoned before the board of trustees to submit himself or herself to such board or the city physician or some other physician selected by the board, to be examined as to the officer's fitness for duty and if found to be able to return to duty by said board, the officer shall not be entitled to any further money from the funds of the pension and retirement system, and shall be returned to active duty in the police department. Any police officer retired for disability as provided in sections 22-78—22-87 of this article shall report upon order of the board of trustees to the city physician or some physician designated by the board of trustees for an examination as to the officer's fitness for duty and if at such time the officer is found fit for duty by the board of trustees, the officer shall not be entitled to any further money from the fund of the pension and retirement system.
