§ 22-122. Officers.

  • (a)

    Within five (5) days after the election of three (3) members of the board of trustees, the board shall meet at a place designated by the city clerk-treasurer and shall elect a chairman and a secretary from the members of the board. These officers shall serve for a period of one year and until their successors are duly elected. Each succeeding year thereafter, and within five (5) days after the election of a new member to the board, it shall meet as above provided and shall elect a chairman and a secretary.

    (b)

    The election of the chairman and the secretary shall be done in such a manner as agreed upon by a majority of the board. In the event any chairman or secretary ceases to be a member of the board, it shall elect from its membership a chairman or a secretary to serve the unexpired term of the respective officer whose membership on the board is terminated.
